- I'm looking for scholarship information for graduate school. Can you help?
-
Johnson & Johnson has made the decision to work with the National Student Nurses Association to provide scholarships to new students and the National League of Nursing to provide scholarships to nurses who wish to become faculty. We feel that the NSNA and the NLN are best able to appropriate funds on our behalf. Please check www.nsna.org or www.nln.org for more information. If you live in one of these areas, there is scholarship money available now.
If none of these scholarships apply to you, please continue to check the scholarship database on www.campaignfornursing.com, check with your financial aid counselor, and contact local civic organizations in your community such as the Rotarians and the Lion's Club.
- Are LPNs represented in your commercials and materials?
-
In fact, there are several LPNs in the commercial; two of the men are LPNs, as is the woman with the short white hair. Additionally, one of the men is featured in a poster for the campaign.
We are absolutely dedicated to nurses of all kinds, including LPNs, and we apologize if the commercial has led you to believe otherwise.
- I find your commercials to be too "touchy feely." Can you change them to focus more on the challenges of the nursing profession?
-
We have produced many videos and commercials, some of which focus more on technical aspects of the nursing profession, as well as the caring and compassion of nurses. We recognize the incredible difficulty of the job of nursing and the skill required, and we focus on encouraging people to develop these skills and learn more about educational opportunities and specialization at our website, www.discovernursing.com, where you can also order materials and videos: www.discovernursing.com/free-materials-brochures.
- Can Johnson & Johnson find me a job as a nurse?
-
At this time, we currently have no involvement with job placement in any capacity, as we're focused on recruitment, retention, and fundraising at the national level. For job placement in your area, we'd suggest trying www.nurse.com. For jobs within Johnson & Johnson, please visit the main website at www.jnj.com.
- I'm a nurse from a foreign country. Can you help me get work in the United States?
-
For specific questions about international nursing, please visit the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools at www.cgfns.org.
- Who can I talk to regarding Johnson & Johnson advertising in my magazine, newspaper, or radio station?
-
At this time, we have chosen not to advertise locally as we're focusing campaign resources on commercial advertising time, recruitment materials, and raising funds for future nurses.
- How can I become an advocate for nursing?
-
You can become an advocate for nursing by sending your name, mailing address, and scrub top size to nursing@corus.jnj.com. The "Nurses Who Make a Difference" program is a volunteer-only program.
- Can the Campaign for Nursing’s Future send a speaker to my conference?
-
Because our staff is so small and we are travelling for our fundraisers, we are no longer able to send out speakers through the Campaign for Nursing’s Future, nor are we able to sponsor individual speakers for conferences or similar events. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We do encourage the use of any and all of our videos to be used, however.
- Can I write a profile for the site?
-
Absolutely! We just need 150-200 words on your life and career, a digital photo.
Write to us at nursing@corus.jnj.com for more information and guidelines.
- Can I be a paid speaker for the Campaign for Nursing’s Future?
-
The Johnson & Johnson Campaign for Nursing’s Future operates on a very small staff and budget, and we focus our resources on fundraising events. While we would love to hire the number of immensely-qualified nurses who express interest in the Campaign every year, we regret that this is impossible. However, if you’d like to write your profile for the site, we would love to have it!
- Can Johnson & Johnson send products for me to use in presentations, career fairs, programs?
-
We don’t send out Johnson & Johnson products through the Campaign, but you are welcome to order the free materials that we do offer (like pens, posters, and magnets) through the website, at: http://www.campaignfornursing.com/free-materials-brochures
- Can the Campagin for Nursing’s Future sponsor my conference, event, pinning ceremony?
-
The Campaign for Nursing’s Future sponsors a limited amount of conferences, pinning ceremonies, and innovative programs like "Scouts Explore Nursing" every year. Grants are always under $5,000, and require a written proposal to apply. For sponsorship guidelines, send email to nursing@corus.jnj.com.
