Edward J. and Virginia M. Routhier Nursing Scholarship

The Nursing Foundation of Rhode Island (NFRI) was incorporated as a non-profit organization in the state of Rhode Island in 1991. The purpose of NFRI is to promote nursing in charitable, educational and scientific ways by increasing public awareness of nursing and its role in promoting health and well-being; fostering the advancement of nursing through the awarding of research grants and scholarships; and preserving the history of nursing in Rhode Island. This Scholarship is open to students enrolled in a baccalaureate program in Rhode Island and licensed RNs seeking baccalaureate or graduate nursing degree in Rhode Island. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

Edward T. Conroy Memorial Scholarship Program

You must enroll at a two-year or four-year Maryland college or university, as a full-time or part-time, degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student or attend a private career school. You must be: the son or daughter of a member of the United States Armed Forces who died or was 100 percent disabled as a direct result of military service; a veteran who suffers, as a direct result of military service, a disability of 25 percent or greater and has exhausted or is no longer eligible for federal veterans’ educational benefits; the son, daughter, or surviving spouse of a victim of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks who died as a result of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the attack on the Pentagon in Virginia, or the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania; a POW/MIA of the Vietnam Conflict or his/her son or daughter; the son, daughter or surviving spouse (who has not remarried) of a state or local public safety employee or volunteer who died in the line of duty; or a state or local public safety employee or volunteer who was 100 percent disabled in the line of duty. NOTE: The parent, veteran, POW or public safety employee or volunteer must have been a resident of Maryland at the time of death or when declared disabled or has a disability of 25 percent or greater and has exhausted or is no longer eligible for federal veteran’s educational benefits.

Edward T. Goldstein Scholarship Fund

Vanderbilt University’s School of Nursing offers a number of full and partial internal scholarships. Full-time enrollment (12 hours per semester) is required to be considered for a scholarship award. Consideration for full scholarships and the amount of partial scholarship awards are based upon an individual's GPA and GRE, GMAT or other standardized test score. All awards are made through the School of Nursing Scholarship Committee according to the requirements of the funding source. This award established by Dorothy S. Goldstein in memory of her husband. Edwina Foye Award for Outstanding Graduate Student

The Edwina Foye scholarship was established in 1985 by colleagues, friends, and family to honor the memory of Edwina Foye, RN, a nurse who dedicated twenty-five years of service to Portsmouth Hospital (1952-1978).  This scholarship is awarded at the Foundation's Annual Meeting in April to a graduate student who is a resident in one of the nine towns in the Foundation area in New Hampshire and Maine.  The individual selected for this award must be pursuing a career in health and demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and personal accomplishments.
