Graduate Scholarships in Clinical Cancer Nursing

The American Cancer Society is the largest non-government funder of cancer research in the United States.  The Society also sponsors grants in support of training for health professionals seeking to develop their clinical expertise and/or their ability to conduct independent research.  Awarded to graduate students pursuing master's degrees in cancer nursing. HCAid Scholarship

HCA Central Atlantic Division awards scholarships to select applicants recently accepted or currently enrolled in a fully accredited Associate Degree Program. Applicants must be enrolled full time. Awards are based on merit and on the applicant's written essay on his/her professional and educational goals. Scholarship recipients agree to employment at the sponsoring HCA-affiliated hospital for a period of no less than three years. Employees of HCA or its affiliates are not eligible.

Health Professions Education Foundation Allied Healthcare Scholarship Program

The purpose of the Allied Healthcare Scholarship Program is to increase the number of appropriately trained allied healthcare professionals, and to encourage their practice in direct patient care in medically underserved areas of California. Priority is given to students enrolled in the fields of medical imaging, occupational therapy, physical therapy, respiratory care, social work, pharmacy, pharmacy technician, medical laboratory technologist, surgical technician, ultrasound technician, and diagnostic medical sonography. Recipients would have a service obligation of 1 year or 100-150 hours volunteer service. This program is funded by a contribution from Kaiser Permanente.

The purpose of this program is to increase the number of appropriately trained health professional and to encourage their practice in direct patient care in medically underserved areas of California. Scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled or accepted into Dentist, Dental Hygienist, Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, and Physician Assistant programs in California. Recipients commit to work full-time or 32 hours per week after graduating with a degree a two-year service obligation practicing direct patient care in a medically underserved area in California.

The purpose of the Associate Degree Nursing Scholarship Program is to increase the number of registered nurses practicing in medically underserved areas of California, and to support their articulation from an Associate Degree Nursing program to a Baccalaureate of Science Nursing Degree program. Scholarships are awarded to nursing students accepted to or enrolled in a Associate Degree Nursing programs in California and who agree to obtain a baccalaureate degree at a nursing program in California within five years of obtaining their associate degree in nursing. Recipients would have a service obligation of two years.

HealthSouth is one of the nation's largest healthcare services providers, with locations nationwide and abroad.  HealthSouth employs almost 7,500 RNs and over 2,000 LPNs nationwide. The company offers a student loan that is tied to a commitment to work with HealthSouth upon graduation.  Monetary amounts range from up to $10,000 for RNs and $5000 for LPNs.
