Helen Hapke Endowment Fund

The Sinclair School of Nursing at University of Missouri offers a number of nursing-specific scholarships undergraduate clinical nursing majors and graduate students. A call for applications and announcement of awards is made each year during the spring semester for the following academic year. This scholarship is open to students enrolled or to be enrolled in the School of Nursing who demonstrate financial need. Award amount usually $500-$1000.

Hilliard Travis Scholarship Fund

Vanderbilt University’s School of Nursing offers a number of full and partial internal scholarships. Full-time enrollment (12 hours per semester) is required to be considered for a scholarship award. Consideration for full scholarships and the amount of partial scholarship awards are based upon an individual's GPA and GRE, GMAT or other standardized test score. All awards are made through the School of Nursing Scholarship Committee according to the requirements of the funding source. This award is supported by the generosity of Mrs. Hilliard Travis and the late Mr. Travis. Several awards are made each year to students in specialties that involve nursing care for children of any age, from neonate through adolescent. Award amount varies.

Hillman Family Foundation Scholarship

The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Nursing has five scholarships, in addition to other Penn awards, to offer incoming traditional BSN students to help with the costs of Penn’s educational expenses.  Applications for these scholarships will be made available to admitted students in mid-March.  The Alex Hillman Family Foundation Scholarship provides funding for selected candidates, in exchange for a two year work commitment in any New York City hospital.  The award must be repaid if the student transfers or withdraws from the School of Nursing, or cannot fulfill their work commitment.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund

The HSF offers a number of scholarships throughout the year, including the College Scholarship Program, Community College Transfer Scholarship Program, High School Scholarship Program, and other partnership and internship opportunities. Hobble (LPN) Nursing Scholarship

This is an outright grant (payable one time) at the start of the first semester, awarded only upon acceptance and verification of enrollment by the scholarship winner in an accredited Kansas school which awards a diploma for Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN). The applicant must have attained the age of 18 prior to taking the Kansas State Board Examination. The scholarship will be awarded to an individual who is both qualified and in need of financial aid.

HRSA Bureau of Health Faculty Loan Repayment Program

The Health Resources and Services Administration's (HRSA) Bureau of Clinician Recruitment and Service is pleased to announce that it is seeking applicants for the 2009 Faculty Loan Repayment Program.

The Faculty Loan Repayment Program provides a financial incentive for degree-trained health professionals from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue academic careers.

Individuals selected agree to serve on the faculty of an accredited health professions college or university for a minimum of two years.

In return, the Federal government agrees to pay, for each year of faculty service, up to $20,000 of the outstanding principal and interest on the participant's educational loans.

HRSA Bureau of Health Professions Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program

Open to U.S. citizens and nationals enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a professional program as a full- or part-time student in an accredited school of nursing, this program offers recipients tuition, fees, supplies, and a monthly stipend in exchange for at least two years service at a health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses.  Preference is given to applicants with greatest financial need.

HRSA National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program

The purpose of this program is to ensure an adequate supply of health professionals to provide primary health services to populations located in health professional shortage areas.  The program recruits Family Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Midwives, or students in those fields, as well as health professionals in several other specific medical professions who agree to provide primary health services in approved NHSC community sites.  In return, the NHSC LRP assists clinicians in their repayment of qualifying educational loans.

HRSA National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program

This scholarship is funded to ensure an adequate supply of health professionals to provide primary health services to populations located in health professional shortage areas.  Scholarships are open to Family Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Midwives, or students in those fields, as well as health professionals in several other specific medical professions.  The scholarship covers the payment of tuition and required fees to the school (on behalf of the student), the payment of a monthly stipend for living expenses, and an annual payment for books, equipment, and supplies.  In return, for each year of support received, students commit to providing primary health care services in a federally designated underserved community in the U.S.  The minimum service commitment is two years; the maximum is four.

HRSA Native Hawaiian Health Scholarship Program

The program provides federal financial support for Native Hawaiians who are students of health professions that are needed to serve Native Hawaiian people in the State of Hawaii.  Scholarships are awarded in return for agreement to serve Native Hawaiians for a minimum of two years.  Applicants must be Native Hawaiians enrolled full-time in an eligible school studying a health profession program.  Applicants must be free of conflicting service obligations and free of federal judgment liens.
