NADONA/LTC – Circle of Excellence Scholarship

NADONA/LTC is the only professional non-profit association specifically serving Directors and Assistant Directors of Nursing in Long-Term Care. Since its inception, NADONA/LTC has worked vigorously to establish professional relationships with the various disciplines in Long-Term Care, in an effort to promote quality of care and quality of life for Long-Term Care residents. NADONA/LTC offers four scholarships to students at various levels of education. This award is given to individuals employed by a facility designated in NADONA/LTC’s Circle of Excellence who is seeking an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Long-Term Care. Applicants must be sponsored by a member of NADONA/LTC if they are not a member themselves.

NAHN Scholarships

NAHN strives to serve the nursing and health care delivery needs of the Hispanic community and the professional needs of Hispanic nurses. NAHN is designed and committed to work toward improvement of the quality of health and nursing care for Hispanic consumers and toward providing equal access to educational, professional, and economic opportunities for Hispanic nurses. NAHN offers several scholarships. Recipients are selected based on potential for leadership in nursing and financial need. Applicants must be of Hispanic descent/ethnicity and members of the national Association of Hispanic Nurses. Nancy Gerald Memorial Nursing Scholarship

The Amarillo Area Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Texas Panhandle through effective philanthropic efforts. This scholarship is available to graduating seniors from one of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle enrolled or planning to enroll at Amarillo College or West Texas A & M University to pursue an Associate degree, a Bachelor’s degree, or a Master’s degree in nursing. NAON Experienced Orthopaedic Nurse Congress Scholarships

The National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses Foundation supports the goals and mission of NAON by providing grants, scholarships, and awards to nurses pursuing careers in orthopaedic research. The purpose of this award is to advance orthopaedic nursing practice, education, research and leadership by supporting the education of a NAON member experienced in orthopaedic nursing. Applicants to this scholarship must be a current NAON member with a current nursing license. They must be an experienced orthopaedic nurse with over five (5) years of orthopaedic experience and currently spend at least 50% of his/her time devoted to the specialty. Winners will receive reimbursement toward expenses incurred in attending the NAON annual congress in St. Louis. As a condition to receiving the award, the recipient agrees to contribute back to the NAON in one of several ways specified by the Foundation.

NAPNAP Elaine Gelman Scholarship Award

The purpose of the NAPNAP Foundation is to support nursing research efforts, which contribute to the improvement of the quality of life for children and their families. This award is named after Elaine Gelman, CPNP, who worked for many years to advance the NP profession. She was instrumental in obtaining statutory authority for NPs in New York in 1988. Elaine will be remembered for her dedication to the maintenance of both high standards for clinical competency within the profession and the spirit of political activism. Applicants must be full or part time NP Students enrolled in an accredited NP program with an expected graduation date of two years or less. Preference will be given to applicants in a PNP program or those with interest or experience in health policy or advocacy.

NAPNAP McNeil Rural Scholarship Award

The purpose of the NAPNAP Foundation is to support nursing research efforts, which contribute to the improvement of the quality of life for children and their families. Through the sponsorship of the McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division, NAPNAP awards this scholarship to selected PNP students who plan on practicing in a rural geographical region for the first two years after he/she completes their PNP education. Applicants must be registered nurses and members of NAPNAP with at least one year previous work experience in pediatrics, and accepted to a recognized Master's program or a Post-Master's PNP program, and must demonstrate financial need.
