Mary Marshall Nursing Scholarship Program for Licensed Practical Nurses

This need-based award is open to residents of Virginia who are enrolled or are accepted to enroll as a full-time or part-time student in a practical school of nursing in the state of Virginia. Scholarship recipients must agree to engage in full-time nursing in Virginia for one month for every $100 received.  Therefore, if a student received $1,200 in scholarship awards, he/she must repay that amount by working continuously for 12 months.  The amount of each scholarship award is dependent upon the amount of funds appropriated by the Virginia General Assembly, the amount of money collected by the Board of Nursing, and the number of qualified applicants.

Mary P. Oenslager Scholastic Achievement Awards

Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, a nonprofit volunteer organization, is the nation's educational library serving people who cannot effectively read standard print because of visual impairment, dyslexia, or other physical disability.  Their mission is to create opportunities for individual success by providing, and promoting the effective use of, accessible educational materials.  Named for the late founder of the awards, these scholarships have been awarded since 1959.  They are given to nine (9) blind or visually impaired seniors at four-year US colleges and universities in recognition for extraordinary leadership, scholarship, enterprise, and service to others.

McFarland Charitable Foundation Nursing Scholarship

William E. McFarland believed that the wealth he accumulated during his life should be used to benefit the health needs of the community from which he built his wealth.  He established a perpetual trust to provide scholarships to registered nursing students.  This trust is now known as the McFarland Charitable Foundation.  The primary purpose of the Foundation is to improve the healthcare services in the Havana, Illinois area by providing scholarships to qualified registered nursing students.  These students must agree to return to the Havana area to serve as registered nurses one year for each year of funding.  Applicants must have a guarantee of employment from a nursing employer in the area as a prerequisite for a scholarship.  Students must be accepted into an accredited school of registered nursing.  The Foundation requires students to enroll full-time and to pursue the degree continuously.  The work service obligation requires full-time employment.  Students are required to sign a written contract covering the scholarship terms and the work service obligation.  Failure to complete the work service obligation requires repayment of all funds disbursed with interest from the date of each disbursement, plus recruitment and replacement costs.

US Medical Supplies recognizes the importance of education and the incredible potential of tomorrow's medical professionals This program is available to entering freshmen, full-time college students who are pursuing a course of study with a degree in a medical field, including nursing. Michigan League for Nursing Student Scholarship

Since 1952, the Michigan League for Nursing (MLN) has provided members with the resources that they need for professional and personal growth.  Today, MLN is comprised of more than 1,000 individual nurses, healthcare professionals, consumers and more than 125 health care agencies.  The MLN offers four nursing student scholarships annually.  In order to be considered for an award, a candidate must be a Michigan resident and currently enrolled in a Licensed Practical Nurse, Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree nursing education program, and must have successfully completed at least one nursing course with a clinical component.

MidAtlantic Cardiovascular Foundation Nursing Scholarship

The MidAtlantic Cardiovascular Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by MidAtlantic Cardiovascular Associates to provide cardiovascular services and care for those in the community who are less fortunate. With support from partners in the pharmaceutical and medical device fields, the Foundation provides direct assistance to patients who cannot afford or access cardiac healthcare benefits or prescriptions. This scholarship program provides financial assistance to qualified applicants studying nursing in an accredited school, college or university. Five awards will be vailable to full/part time students enrolled in Associate or Baccalaureate nursing degree programs. Applicants must be residents of Maryland and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must also provide three letters of reference which indicate scholarship, compassion, and potential for success in the practice of nursing. Priority is given to students who plan to practice in Maryland after graduation and to students who intend to pursue a career in cardiovascular or critical-care nursing.

OSAC administers a variety of State of Oregon, Federal, and privately funded student financial aid programs for the benefit of Oregonians attending institutions of postsecondary education. Minnesota Nurse Faculty Loan Forgiveness Program

The purpose of Minnesota's Loan Forgiveness program is to recruit and retain health care professionals and educators to needed areas and facilities within Minnesota. The Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC), Minnesota Department of Health administers this program. This program is offered to students studying to become nursing instructors, who plan to teach at least twelve credit hours, or 720 hours per year (including prep time) in the nursing field in a postsecondary program in Minnesota for a minimum of three years.
