ONS Foundation – Oncology Nursing Certificate Corporation Bachelor’s Scholarship

This scholarship was established to improve oncology nursing by assisting RNs in furthering their education. The candidate must demonstrate an interest in and commitment to oncology nursing and must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate nursing degree program in a school of nursing accredited by the National League for Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The candidate must have a current license to practice as an RN. At the end of each year of scholarship participation, the nurse must submit a summary describing the educational activities in which he or she participated.

ONS Foundation – Pearl Moore Career Development Awards

Supported by Anthony J. Jannetti, Inc., these three awards, named after the CEO of the Oncology Nursing Society, reward professional staff nurses for meritorious practice by providing financial assistance to attend a continuing-education program(s) that will further the nurse's professional goal(s). This award is not intended to supplement tuition in a bachelor's or master's program. The candidate currently must be employed as a staff nurse in oncology nursing with a minimum of 75% of his or her time devoted to direct patient care, have two or more years in oncology nursing practice, and possess or be pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing An individual cannot receive this award more than one time.

OPPORTUNITIES - Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Bilingual Scholarship

The Children's OPPORTUNITIES scholarship provides tuition equivalent assistance to bilingual students interested in pediatric nursing careers. The scholarship is open to students or individuals seeking a career change. Previous experience or education in nursing is not required.

*Applicant must be fluent in two or more languages, one of which must be English
*Applicant must be admitted, enrolled and classified as a student in a matriculated status at an eligible institution

Upon graduation from nursing school, recipient will be committed to work as a full-time Registered Nurse at Children's for one year for each year of support received.

Oregon Nursing Services Program

This program is designed to recruit registered nurses (RNs) to the designated critical nursing shortage areas and specialties throughout Oregon. Participants receive annual payments toward the debt incurred during their professional nursing program in exchange for qualifying service. Maximum participation will not exceed four years of qualifying employment in order to receive 100% repayment of the total principle qualifying loan debt. This award is open to students enrolled in the last year of an RN program, recent RN graduates, and RNs currently practicing. Oregon residency in not required when applying.

Palmetto Gold Undergraduate Scholarships

Pamela Stinson Kidd Memorial Doctoral Scholarship (ENA)

Recognizing the importance of ongoing education and research opportunities in emergency nursing, ENA established the Foundation in 1991. The purpose of the Foundation is to enhance emergency health services available to the public through education and research. This scholarship is awarded to a nurse (RN, LPN or LVN) pursuing a doctoral degree. It has been made possible through contributions to the Foundation in memory of Pamela Stinson Kidd. Pam was a longtime member of ENA and served on the ENA Board of Directors, the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing, as well as numerous ENA committees. Pam was an exemplar educator and nurse researcher who mentored many nurses.

Patricia Smith Christensen Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of Patricia Christensen, a Canadian nurse, whose area of interest and expertise was maternal-child nursing.  It is intended to provide assistance to a graduate nursing student who is pursuing her/his nursing education in the area of maternal-child or pediatric nursing.  The scholarship will be awarded once during each biennium to the student with the greatest demonstrated potential for advanced study and research.  The applicant must be a registered nurse with a current license and must be enrolled in a Master's or doctoral program in nursing.  Preference will be given to a Canadian resident and to Sigma Theta Tau International members if other qualifications are all equal.

Pauline Thompson Clinical Nursing Research Award

The Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania has established the Pauline Thompson Clinical Nursing Research Award for a registered nurse enrolled in a graduate program who is conducting a clinical research project in nursing. The recipient will be the qualified applicant with the best-designed patient/client care research project. The Awards Committee of the Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania will review the applications. The applicant must be enrolled in a master's program in nursing that is accredited by the NLNAC or CCNE, or a doctoral program in nursing in an accredited university. Applicants in post-doctoral studies will be considered on an individual basis. The applicant's research interest must focus on a clinical nursing topic, which directly affects patient/client care. The applicant may have obtained no more than $5,000.00 in research funds from any one source for this specific project. Priority will be given to those applicants who have received no or limited funding for this specific project. The applicant must be a member of the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association for at least six (6) months prior to application. The applicant must be sponsored by an individual who can attest to the applicant's ability to develop and conduct a research project. Previous recipients of this award are not eligible to apply if it is for the same research program.
