Mary Marshall Nursing Scholarship Program for Licensed Practical Nurses
This need-based award is open to residents of Virginia who are enrolled or are accepted to enroll as a full-time or part-time student in a practical school of nursing in the state of Virginia. Scholarship recipients must agree to engage in full-time nursing in Virginia for one month for every $100 received. Therefore, if a student received $1,200 in scholarship awards, he/she must repay that amount by working continuously for 12 months. The amount of each scholarship award is dependent upon the amount of funds appropriated by the Virginia General Assembly, the amount of money collected by the Board of Nursing, and the number of qualified applicants.

Mary P. Oenslager Scholastic Achievement Awards
Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, a nonprofit volunteer organization, is the nation's educational library serving people who cannot effectively read standard print because of visual impairment, dyslexia, or other physical disability. Their mission is to create opportunities for individual success by providing, and promoting the effective use of, accessible educational materials. Named for the late founder of the awards, these scholarships have been awarded since 1959. They are given to nine (9) blind or visually impaired seniors at four-year US colleges and universities in recognition for extraordinary leadership, scholarship, enterprise, and service to others.

Mary T. Price Fund
The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation Scholarship Program has
numerous scholarships established by individuals, firms, and
organizations wanting to assist West Virginia residents in
obtaining a college education. This award is given to an
applicant who is a graduate of Logan High School in West Virginia,
looking to study Registered Nursing at a college or university with
an accredited nursing program in West Virginia.

McFarland Charitable Foundation Nursing Scholarship
William E. McFarland believed that the wealth he accumulated
during his life should be used to benefit the health needs of the
community from which he built his wealth. He established a
perpetual trust to provide scholarships to registered nursing
students. This trust is now known as the McFarland Charitable
Foundation. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to
improve the healthcare services in the Havana, Illinois area by
providing scholarships to qualified registered nursing
students. These students must agree to return to the Havana
area to serve as registered nurses one year for each year of
funding. Applicants must have a guarantee of employment from
a nursing employer in the area as a prerequisite for a
scholarship. Students must be accepted into an accredited
school of registered nursing. The Foundation requires
students to enroll full-time and to pursue the degree
continuously. The work service obligation requires full-time
employment. Students are required to sign a written contract
covering the scholarship terms and the work service
obligation. Failure to complete the work service obligation
requires repayment of all funds disbursed with interest from the
date of each disbursement, plus recruitment and replacement
costs.

Melissa Sengbusch Inspirational Program
The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Nursing has five scholarships, in addition to other Penn awards, to offer incoming traditional BSN students to help with the costs of Penn’s educational expenses. Applications for these scholarships will be made available to admitted students in mid-March. The Melissa Sengbusch Inspirational Scholarship is offered by the School of Nursing for all four years at the school. The funds are available each year pending academic progress.

Merle Dozier Strange Scholarship
The Sinclair School of Nursing at University of Missouri offers a number of nursing-specific scholarships undergraduate clinical nursing majors and graduate students. A call for applications and announcement of awards is made each year during the spring semester for the following academic year. This scholarship is open to undergraduate or graduate nursing students who meet the scholastic qualifications of the school.

Michigan League for Nursing Student Scholarship
Since 1952, the Michigan League for Nursing (MLN) has provided members with the resources that they need for professional and personal growth. Today, MLN is comprised of more than 1,000 individual nurses, healthcare professionals, consumers and more than 125 health care agencies. The MLN offers four nursing student scholarships annually. In order to be considered for an award, a candidate must be a Michigan resident and currently enrolled in a Licensed Practical Nurse, Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree nursing education program, and must have successfully completed at least one nursing course with a clinical component.

Mildred I. Martignone Nurse Scholarship
OSAC administers a variety of State of Oregon, Federal, and privately funded student financial aid programs for the benefit of Oregonians attending institutions of postsecondary education. This one-time award is given to applicants who are residents of District 7, Oregon Nurses Association, Umatilla County (cities of Athena, Meacham, Milton-Freewater, Pendleton, Pilot Rock, Ukiah, Weston) entering final year (last three quarters) of accredited nursing programs.

Mildred Nutting Nursing Scholarship
The DAR, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children. This scholarship is a one-time award given to students who are in financial need and accepted and enrolled into an accredited school of nursing. Preference will be given to candidates from the greater Lowell, MA area.
