Minnesota Nurse Faculty Loan Forgiveness Program

The purpose of Minnesota's Loan Forgiveness program is to recruit and retain health care professionals and educators to needed areas and facilities within Minnesota. The Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC), Minnesota Department of Health administers this program. This program is offered to students studying to become nursing instructors, who plan to teach at least twelve credit hours, or 720 hours per year (including prep time) in the nursing field in a postsecondary program in Minnesota for a minimum of three years.

Minnesota Nurse Loan Forgiveness Program

The purpose of Minnesota's Loan Forgiveness program is to recruit and retain health care professionals to needed areas and facilities within Minnesota. The Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC), Minnesota Department of Health administers this program. This program is offered to licensed practical or registered nurse students, who plan to practice for at least 30 hours per week, for at least 45 weeks per year, for a minimum of three years in a licensed nursing home or intermediate care facility for the mentally retarded (ICF/MR) in Minnesota.

Mississippi Nurses Foundation Scholarship

The Mississippi Nurses' Association (MNA) is the voice of registered nurses of Mississippi and provides leadership to improve the health of the people.   The Association’s Foundation offers this scholarship annually.  Applicants must be members of the Mississippi Nurses Association.  The award is granted based on a written essay.  For more information about this and other scholarships, the MNA recommends that candidates for nursing school contact the school of nursing where they have enrolled as many hospitals and other organizations offer scholarships and work directly with the schools of nursing located in their close proximity.

The Morris K. Most Valuable Student Competition

The Elks National Foundation provides more than $3.3 million in college scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors. The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated boys and girls in this annual competition. Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply. Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks. College students are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; resident alien status does not qualify. Applicants will be judged on financial need, leadership and scholarship. Applications must advance through local, district and state competition to reach the national competition. Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a US American college or university. Male and female students compete separately.

Mount Sinai Hospital’s BSN Student Scholarship/Work Repayment Program

Founded in 1852, The Mount Sinai Hospital is one of the country's oldest and largest voluntary teaching hospitals. The Mount Sinai Hospital Department of Nursing sponsors these scholarships for senior nursing students within a BSN Program, in association with a work commitment as a Registered Nurse at The Mount Sinai Hospital for every semester that monies are awarded. The monies must be utilized for educational costs for the attainment of the degree for the semester in which the scholarship is awarded.
