Service League Scholarship for Graduate Education in Nursing
The goal of the Akron General Medical Center Service League Nursing Scholarship is to provide financial assistance for students regardless of race, religion, sex, age, disability or national origin, who are accepted by an accredited college of nursing. Scholarships will be provided by the Akron General Medical Center Development Foundation through endowments funded by the Akron General Medical Center Service League and other benefactors. The scholarships are awarded based on candidate's scholarship and financial need. Eligibility Candidates must be accepted by a University Graduate Nursing Program. Candidates must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or more as submitted by university. Candidates must be a graduate of a high school in Ohio or an Akron General Medical Center employee, or a son, daughter or spouse of an employee. In its mission to provide leadership and scholarship in practice, education and research, and to encourage nurses to contribute to the advancement of nursing through research, Sigma Theta Tau offers numerous research grant opportunities. Applicants must be a licensed Registered Nurse with a master's or doctoral degree or be enrolled in a doctoral program. Allocation of funds is based on the quality of the proposed research, the future promise of the applicant, and the applicant's research budget. Applications from novice researchers who have received no other national research funds are encouraged and will receive preference for funding, other aspects being equal. SIH Scholarship Program for Healthcare Careers
The SIH Scholarship program is a multi-phase program that marries college scholarship money with work opportunities for students majoring in certain healthcare disciplines. You can receive money for such items as tuition, lab fees, books, educational supplies, and additional money may be available upon request based on individual need. The mission of the Society of Pediatric Nurses is to promote excellence in nursing care of children and their families through support of its members' clinical practice, education, research, and advocacy. The purpose of this scholarship award is to help SPN members further their professional education. SONNE Scholarship
The Illinois Nurses Association is the pre-eminent voice for nurses in the state if Illinois. With over 100 years of service to its constituent members, the organization has consistently strived to address issues concerning nurses, resulting in major improvements in working conditions, salaries, and employment contracts for members. The Sonne Scholarship Program was created through a generous bequest from the estate of Maybelle Sonne, a retired nurse, who directed that the funds be used to aid those entering a career in nursing. These funds may be used to cover tuition, fees, or other costs encountered by a student enrolled in a state-approved nursing program which leads to eligibility to sit for licensure examination as a registered professional nurse.

Specialized Training Assistance Program (STRAP)
This program is open to associate degree/diploma nurses who have graduated from an NLN or CCNE accredited program and are currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
program or a Masters of Science in Nursing (Critical Care/Nurse Anesthesia. Recipients receive a monthly stipend of $1,600.
Participants incur a two-year obligation to serve in the Army Reserve for each year or partial year of financial assistance. Students may also receive $50,000 towards repaying their loans.
