Albert E. and Florence W. Newton Nurse Scholarship
The Albert E. and Florence W. Newton Fund was established through the will of Mr. Albert E. Newton, an executive of the Central Lace Works, who passed away on May 19, 1968, to provide financial assistance to individuals wishing to pursue degrees in nursing. This award is a renewable scholarship open to Rhode Island residents who are licensed RNs seeking baccalaureate or graduate nursing degrees; juniors or seniors in baccalaureate nursing programs; second or third year students in a three-year nursing program; or students in a two-year associate degree nursing program. Nursing programs must be at Rhode Island school or institutions.

Albert E. and Florence W. Newton Nursing Scholarship
The Nursing Foundation of Rhode Island (NFRI) was incorporated as a non-profit organization in the state of Rhode Island in 1991. The purpose of NFRI is to promote nursing in charitable, educational and scientific ways by increasing public awareness of nursing and its role in promoting health and well-being; fostering the advancement of nursing through the awarding of research grants and scholarships; and preserving the history of nursing in Rhode Island.
This Scholarship is open to students enrolled in an associate, baccalaureate, diploma, or RN-to-BSN degree programs.

Alexander Graham Bell Foundation College Scholarship Award
College scholarships are awarded to qualified students with moderate to profound hearing loss to continue their education on undergraduate and graduate levels. Alice Newell Joslyn Medical Fund
Established in 1984, the BECA Foundation’s purpose is to provide
scholarships and community-based guidance to Latino students
pursuing a college education. Students must be willing to share the
benefits of their academic accomplishments, both now and in the
future, with their Latino community. The BECA Foundation awards the
Alice Newell Joslyn Medical scholarships to students who plan to
enter the medical/healthcare profession and who live or attend
college in San Diego County at the time of application. Eligibility
is contingent upon applicants’ financial need, scholastic
determination, and community/cultural awareness. Both high school
seniors and current undergraduate students are eligible to apply.

American Cancer Society’s Doctoral Degree Scholarships in Cancer Nursing
The American Cancer Society is the largest non-government funder
of cancer research in the United States. The Society also
sponsors grants in support of training for health professionals
seeking to develop their clinical expertise and/or their ability to
conduct independent research. Awarded to graduate students
pursuing doctoral studies in the fields of cancer nursing research,
education, administration, or clinical practice. Awards are for up
to four years, with a stipend of $15,000 per year.

American Legion Auxiliary, Dept. of Arizona Past President’s Parley Nurses Scholarship
This award is granted to a student in their second year or higher,
who is enrolled in an accredited institution in Arizona pursuing a
degree as a Registered Nurse. The immediate family members of
a veteran will be given first preference. Applicant must be a
citizen of the United States and a resident of Arizona for at least
one (1) year. Money awarded will be paid at the beginning of
the school year to the institution where applicant is enrolled in
the nursing program. Final selection will be made by the
American Legion Auxiliary through the Past Presidents' Parley
Chairman and a committee of three (3) Past Department Presidents.
