ONCB Scholarships To NAON Congress For Certified Orthopaedic Nurses
The National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses Foundation supports the goals and mission of NAON by providing grants, scholarships, and awards to nurses pursuing careers in orthopaedic research. This award is offered to support education of a NAON member in the legislative process in order to influence health policy on State and Federal levels through an endowed scholarship. The award is a stipend to cover the majority of costs associated with attendance at Nursing Organizations Alliance’s NIWI in March.

ONF – Centennial Education Scholarships
The Centennial Scholarship Fund was created by the Oregon Nurses Foundation in 2003. During 2003 and 2004, Foundation members were successful in raising these monies because they were specifically designated to address the current and impending nursing shortage in Oregon. Specifically, these funds were to be used to attract individuals into nursing by providing support for tuition costs in the early phases of their academic life. Applicants must be accepted into or enrolled in an accredited nursing program in Oregon.

ONF – Huggins And Haggland Scholarship For Continuing Education
The Oregon Nurses Association is the voice of nursing in Oregon.
A professional association and labor union, ONA has stood for the
integrity of the nursing profession for over 90 years and continues
to represent thousands of registered nurses who are speaking up for
improved patient care, better working conditions for all nurses,
and quality health care delivery systems. The foundation promotes a
healthy community by acquiring and distributing funds to support
excellence in nursing practice, research education and community
service. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist individual
ONA members with continuing education by providing money in the
form of stipends.

ONF – Lily Drake Scholarship Trust
The Oregon Nurses Association is the voice of nursing in Oregon. The foundation promotes a healthy community by acquiring and distributing funds to support excellence in nursing practice, research education and community service. This trust account was opened in 1977 and will be active until 2052. At that time the remainder of the funds will be distributed to the National Kidney Foundation of Oregon. In the meantime the trust is able to dispense funds to single, female RNs in Oregon (not LPNs) who wish to continue their education in the nursing profession.

ONF-Smith Education Scholarship Application
Award for students enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate nursing program in Oregon. RN applicants must be members in good standing of the Oregon Nurses Association. Non-RN applicants must pledge to join the Oregon Nurses Association or a constituent member association of American Nurses Association upon registered nurse licensure.

ONS Foundation – Ann Olson Memorial Doctoral Scholarship
Supported by Pfizer Oncology and named after Ann Olson, an
oncology sales representative who dies of cancer in 1989, this
scholarship was established to improve oncology nursing by
assisting the RN in fulfilling their education. The candidate must
be a current RN committed to oncology nursing and must be currently
enrolled in or applying to a doctoral nursing degree or related
program.

ONS Foundation – Josh Gottheil Memorial Bone Marrow Transplant Career Development Awards
Supported by the Josh Gottheil Memorial Fund for Lymphoma
Research, which was established by Dr. and Mrs. Gottheil in memory
of their son, Josh, who died of lymphoma in 1991, these four awards
reward selected RNs for meritorious practice in bone marrow
transplant nursing by providing financial assistance to attend a
continuing-education program(s) that will further his or her
professional goals or to supplement tuition in a bachelor's or
master's program. The candidate currently must be employed as an RN
working in BMT with a minimum 75% of his or her time devoted to
patient care or in the position of nurse manager, nurse
practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, or BMT coordinator and
must have two or more years in BMT nursing practice. An individual
cannot receive this award more than one time.

ONS Foundation – Oncology Nursing Certificate Corporation Bachelor’s Scholarship
This scholarship was established to improve oncology nursing by
assisting RNs in furthering their education. The candidate must
demonstrate an interest in and commitment to oncology nursing and
must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate nursing degree
program in a school of nursing accredited by the National League
for Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The
candidate must have a current license to practice as an RN. At the
end of each year of scholarship participation, the nurse must
submit a summary describing the educational activities in which he
or she participated.

ONS Foundation – Pearl Moore Career Development Awards
Supported by Anthony J. Jannetti, Inc., these three awards,
named after the CEO of the Oncology Nursing Society, reward
professional staff nurses for meritorious practice by providing
financial assistance to attend a continuing-education program(s)
that will further the nurse's professional goal(s). This award is
not intended to supplement tuition in a bachelor's or master's
program. The candidate currently must be employed as a staff nurse
in oncology nursing with a minimum of 75% of his or her time
devoted to direct patient care, have two or more years in oncology
nursing practice, and possess or be pursuing a bachelor of science
in nursing An individual cannot receive this award more than one
time.

Named after Roberta Pierce Scofield, an oncology nurse and the first president of ONCC, who died of cancer in 1988, this scholarship was established to improve oncology nursing by assisting the RN in fulfilling his/her education. The candidate must be a current RN committed to oncology nursing and must be currently enrolled in or applying to a doctoral nursing degree or related program.
