Bethesda Scholarships for College Students Entering the Field of Developmental Disabilities

In its ongoing effort to support people with developmental disabilities, Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services offers various scholarships and awards to Lutheran youth to consider careers in the field of developmental disabilities services. This award is open to Lutheran college students who have attained sophomore status or higher at a college or university. Applicants must have worked 100 hours of paid volunteer work in the field of developmental disabilities and be interested in entering that field as a career.

CampusRN is launching a new scholarship program in conjunction with the creation of the CampusRN state edition network. This nationwide scholarship program is the most comprehensive of its kind for nursing programs and nursing students because it features scholarship winners from every state in which CampusRN launches a state edition site. CampusRN will award a $1000 scholarship to a needy and deserving nursing student in each state on the anniversary of the launch of that state's customized site.

Celeste Hayo Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Hawaii Community Foundation is a public, statewide, charitable services and grantmaking organization by donor contributions for the benefit of Hawaii’s people. The Foundation has distributed scholarships to more than 2,300 students totaling more than $4.7 million. Applicants to the scholarship must be a graduate of King Kekaulike High School. Recognizing the importance of ongoing education and research opportunities in emergency nursing, ENA established the Foundation in 1991. The purpose of the Foundation is to enhance emergency health services available to the public through education and research. This scholarship is awarded to a nurse (RN, LPN or LVN) who is pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing. This scholarship is named in memory of Charles Kunz, father of 2005 ENA President, Patricia Kunz Howard.

Christiana Care Health Systems Scholarship

Christiana Care offers scholarships to qualified students through a competitive selection process. The Ruth Shaw Junior Board Scholarship program helps nursing and allied health students prepare for a challenging career and ensures employment after graduation. The program offers financial assistance to students currently enrolled in nursing and selected allied health programs. Scholarships cover tuition and textbook costs and are offered in return for a commitment to work for Christiana Care after graduation.
