Bernice L. Vance Scholarship
This award was named after Bernice L. Vance, a former school nurse, public health practitioner at the Clarksburg-Harrison Health Department, and owner/president of the West Virginia Carbon Company. Eligible applicants must: be native West Virginians; accept employment as a nurse in West Virginia for one year after passing boards; be enrolled in an accredited nursing program (full- or part-time); before renewal, provide proof that they remain in nursing programs and are making satisfactory progress; and include two character references. Contact the Director of Nursing at your school for more information and an application. Five of these scholarships are awarded yearly.

Bernice Pickens Parsons Fund
The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation Scholarship Program has numerous scholarships established by individuals, firms, and organizations wanting to assist West Virginia residents in obtaining a college education. This award is given to fourteen applicants who are financially needy resident of West Virginia pursuing education or training in the fields of library science, nursing, and para-professional training in the legal field.

Degree Prospects, LLC has established a scholarship program to assist students pursuing studies in nursing. The program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America.
Applicants to this award must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents who have been awarded a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Applicant must have had no previous employment history as a nurse.
Applicants to this award program must plan to enroll in a Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing or Second Degree Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program, accredited by the CCNE or the NLNAC.

Bethesda Scholarships for College Students Entering the Field of Developmental Disabilities
In its ongoing effort to support people with developmental disabilities, Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services offers various scholarships and awards to Lutheran youth to consider careers in the field of developmental disabilities services. This award is open to Lutheran college students who have attained sophomore status or higher at a college or university. Applicants must have worked 100 hours of paid volunteer work in the field of developmental disabilities and be interested in entering that field as a career.

Bethesda’s Developmental Disabilities Scholarship for Lutheran Nursing Students
This award (up to two presented annually) is offered to encourage Lutheran nursing students to pursue careers in developmental disabilities. Betty Crim Endowed Nursing Scholarship
The Sinclair School of Nursing at University of Missouri offers a number of nursing-specific scholarships undergraduate clinical nursing majors and graduate students. A call for applications and announcement of awards is made each year during the spring semester for the following academic year. This scholarship is open to full‐time undergraduate nursing students who need financial assistance, who have completed or who are completing their first clinical nursing course and who meet the scholastic qualifications of the School. Preference is given to first generation college attendees.

Bill and Mary Russell Health Care Scholarship Fund
Started in 1982, Heartland Foundation evolved from raising money to support hospital projects to a large umbrella organization to counter economic and population decline, falling educational levels and citizen apathy. The foundation's programs now include those for youth and healthy communities as well as allocating resources.
Available to residents of selected counties in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska, this scholarship program supports those students pursuing educational opportunities in a health care field. All recipients must be accepted and enrolled in an approved nursing or health related program.

C. W. Kempkau Scholarship
Vanderbilt University’s School of Nursing offers a number of full and partial internal scholarships. Full-time enrollment (12 hours per semester) is required to be considered for a scholarship award. Consideration for full scholarships and the amount of partial scholarship awards are based upon an individual's GPA and GRE, GMAT or other standardized test score. All awards are made through the School of Nursing Scholarship Committee according to the requirements of the funding source. This scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding pre-specialty student in the incoming class.
