Jennifer H.

Seattle, WA
RN; Oncology

Every patient is different and that’s what makes nursing so special. For me, patient interaction is definitely the most rewarding aspect of the job. Nothing makes me feel better than having a patient tell me “thank you”. Nursing is so much more than I thought it would be. It’s an all-encompassing role that challenges me every day because every action I take directly affects a patient’s outcome--a person’s life. I feel very secure and appreciated in my job. Our staff works as team and everyone helps each other out. We all care so much about our patients that we want to do our best to help them become healthier. The prospects as a nurse are infinite. Our hospital offers many continuing education classes that we are encouraged to take in order to broaden our knowledge base. The staff is also very flexible with those of us in graduate school. I’m getting my master’s part-time right now and my supervisor allows me to adjust my work schedule around my classes.
