Lori M.

Finksburg, MD
RN; Emergency Department

Nurses are the foundation of medical care, and nursing is such a satisfying career. I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives and feel I achieve that goal in some way every day. I work with so many wonderful nurses — male and female — who provide excellent patient care and leadership skills. We all strive for the same goals of helping, understanding and giving. I love working in the emergency department because I never know what will happen! It’s incredibly exciting to piece together a diagnosis in an emergency situation. Many of the patients are scared and I truly believe that the support we provide makes all the difference to them. One of the most fulfilling things I do is prepare transplant patients for surgery. The hope and the love for life I see in their eyes are amazing — it’s what makes this job truly special.
