Nikki B.

Augusta, GA
Student

I decided to enter nursing school primarily because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I chose critical care nursing because I was born three months premature and wanted to give others what a great team of skilled and dedicated nurses had given me – a chance at life. Years later I was able to meet the actual nurses who cared for me and was grateful for the opportunity to say “Thank you.” Even though those words couldn’t really express my gratitude, I could tell it made them feel very good about what they do. Beyond that, a nursing degree offers endless opportunities like teaching, administration, pharmaceutical sales, infection control, insurance, and flight nursing, to name just a few. The sky really is the limit – nursing can take you anywhere you want to go. And let’s face it – the money’s not bad either, and because of the current nursing shortage, there’s a lot of job security. Plus, you can find work almost anywhere in the country.
