Susan T.

New Brunswick, NJ
RN, Medical Services Analyst

Nursing has afforded me a varied and interesting life. When I started on this road 27 years ago, I could have never imagined the opportunities that would come my way. From assisting on open heart surgery as an operating room nurse, to working on the maternity unit and actually delivering babies, I have never had a chance to be bored. I have taught La Maze classes, counseled pain management patients, and have been director of nursing of an ambulatory surgery center. I've made room for the out-of-the-ordinary assignments, as well: Being technical advisor on a daytime soap opera, I put my nursing expertise to work guiding the medical scenes. I even played a nurse on a diaper commercial! When I went to nursing school, I understood that my choice of professions was a commitment of the heart. I have given care and understanding to many patients over the years, but am surprised at how much I have received in return. I am still so proud to be a nurse, and prouder still to work for a company who would champion the plight of the nurse's future.
