Jennylynde R.P.

Middleton, WI
RN-BC, MSN

I became a Certified Nursing Assistant at the age of 16, after obtaining my Girl Scout Gold Award by arranging a volunteer opportunity in a Skilled Nursing Facility. I found myself frequently astounded by the things this fragile population had to share. I have always been passionate about care of the elderly. I had tried CNA work in home care and hospital settings, but returned to Long Term Care. I had considered medical school, but found myself searching for a more holistic approach to care. I was encouraged to go to nursing school by my friends and family. After completing my BSN, I advanced quickly to Director of Nursing of a quaint nursing home known for outstanding quality of care. I am constantly impressed by the caliber of the staff I work with, and their abilities to empower residents. The level of care required by the average nursing home resident has increased dramatically in my twenty years in the industry. I became board certified in gerontology to promote the specialty, and improve recognition of LTC nursing. I have recently obtained my MSN, with the hopes of teaching part time, to share my love of older adults with future nursing generations.
