Northeast Georgia Health System Cancelable Loan Nurses Program

Sponsor: State of Georgia, Student Finance Commission

The Northeast Georgia Health System Service Cancelable Loan program addresses the critical shortage of Registered Nurses (RN), particularly in northeast Georgia. Students who become RNs after successfully completing the program and passing the licensing exam can cancel all or part of their loan debt by working full-time for the Northeast Georgia Health System for a specified length of time. The nurses receive their full salary in addition to canceling their loan debt. Graduates who do not fulfill the service obligation must repay their loans, plus interest, where applicable. Individuals interested in participating in this program should contact the financial aid office at one of the following eligible schools: North Georgia College & State University, Brenau University, Piedmont College, or the Augusta Campus of the Medical College of Georgia.
