HRSA National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program

Sponsor: U.S. Public Health Service-Health Resources and Services Administration, Bureau of Health Professions

This scholarship is funded to ensure an adequate supply of health professionals to provide primary health services to populations located in health professional shortage areas.  Scholarships are open to Family Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Midwives, or students in those fields, as well as health professionals in several other specific medical professions.  The scholarship covers the payment of tuition and required fees to the school (on behalf of the student), the payment of a monthly stipend for living expenses, and an annual payment for books, equipment, and supplies.  In return, for each year of support received, students commit to providing primary health care services in a federally designated underserved community in the U.S.  The minimum service commitment is two years; the maximum is four.
