Nurse Practitioner
Nurse practitioners are registered nurses with several years of post-baccalaureate education (usually with a Master's degree) who are required to pass a national certification exam. In their practice, they diagnose illness and prescribe interventions through interview and physical exam, order specific labs and diagnostic testing, and prescribe medications, while still providing health care education, counseling, and supportive care to an individual, family, or community.
