Psychiatric Nurse

RN Diploma, ASN or BSN

Psychiatric Nurses treat patients diagnosed with conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression. They’re also trained in behavioral therapy, which allows these nurses to teach patients, and their loved ones, how to deal with challenges that go along with psychiatric disorders

Things You'll Do:

  • Assess, examine, diagnose and treat patients with mental illness
  • Teach patients’ families about the patient’s condition, and how to react in certain scenarios

How You'll Get There
  • Get Your
    Nursing Diploma, Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Pass Your
    National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN)
  • You can start working as a Registered Nurse in psychiatric hospitals and other mental health facilities.
