National “Nurses Heal” Commercials Honored with Effie Award

The Johnson & Johnson Campaign for Nursing’s Future was honored with its first Silver Effie award during the 2013 North American Awards Gala, held on May 22 in New York City, for the development of “Nurses Heal,” a television advertising campaign focusing on recruiting and retaining nurses.

The advertising, launched in 2011 during National Nurses Week, was awarded an Effie in the category of GoodWorks – Brands for the entry titled “Healing a Profession from the Inside Out.” The suite of three television advertisements were designed to acknowledge nurses’ approach to providing care and compassion, but also recognize them as serious, dedicated professionals with a high degree of expertise and clinical skill – delivering much more than just emotional comfort.

Each of the television spots – “Name Game,” “Charm” and “Open Window” – feature real nurses and represent different specialties, including pediatrics, emergency room and hospice nursing. To date, the commercials have received more than 500,000 views, 430 comments and 1,490 likes on YouTube.
