2013 Amazing Nurse Gloria Kindzeka Profiled in New Video

November 2013

Specializing in pediatric home care, Gloria Kindzeka, RN, provides advanced care for Kate, a child with a rare condition called Pfeiffer Syndrome. Kindzeka’s story about her work with Kate touched the thousands who heard it, and voters have since selected her as the 2013 Amazing Nurse!

Kindzeka has cared for Kate since she was an infant, helping her with daily living activities such as dental care, medication, respiratory treatments, personal hygiene and therapeutic play. She attends school with Kate, goes to medical appointments, and involves her in community activities and events.

“Working with Kate has taught me not to take life or good health for granted,” said Kindzeka. “I love nursing because it gives me the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.” You can learn more about Kindzeka’s work with Kate in her new video profile below!

Amazing Nurses 2013 provided an opportunity for the public, patients and the healthcare community to nominate nurses who continually demonstrate their commitment to the profession. Receiving more than 1,300 nominations, the field was narrowed down to 10 Finalists, after which more than 22,000 votes were cast for the nominees.

Thanks again to everyone who helped us celebrate Amazing Nurses, and congratulations to each of the Finalists!
