This March during National Nutrition Month®, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is encouraging people to “Enjoy the Taste of Eating Right.” This campaign is designed to bring attention to the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.

A healthy, balanced diet can help build stamina and increase energy levels, and with highly physical work and long shifts, this is especially important for nurses. What you eat for lunch could make the difference between being worn out and remaining energized throughout your entire day.
The great news? A recent study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that measured obesity rates by profession in Washington state found that healthcare professionals, especially nurses, met or exceeded their daily nutritional consumption of fruits and vegetables, and therefore had one of the lowest obesity rates!
