Tuition Waiver for Foster Care Recipients

The Tuition Waiver for Foster Care Recipients was established by the Maryland Higher Education Commission. The scholarship is open to certain students under the age of 21 who have resided in a foster care home in the State of Maryland. Applicants must have resided in a foster care home in Maryland at the time he/she graduated from high school or successfully completed a general equivalency development examination, or have resided in a Maryland foster care home on his/her 14th birthday and then been adopted after his/her 14th birthday. Applicants must enroll as degree-seeking students at a public two-year or four-year higher education institution in Maryland on or before age 21.
