Personal Information

  • Degree

I've been a nurse at Allegheny General Hospital for more than 10 years. I wanted to be a nurse since I was a little girl, because I like taking care of people and helping others. Nursing lets me touch someone every day when I come to work. While nursing can be very demanding and I do have difficult days, I also know that I've made a difference in people's lives and given something back to society. Anyone can earn a nursing degree, but only some people are born with true caring and compassion. This is a gift that God gave to me, so I give back to God and to others. On the medical surgical unit, I've had a wide variety of patients to care for - from those recovering from colorectal surgery to others with pneumonia or stomach ulcers. I was in the float pool for a year and worked in Ob/Gyn and orthopedics. I might like to try ICU eventually. I earned my Associate's Degree from the Community College of Allegheny County and am now studying for my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Carlow College. I live in the Mt. Washington section of Pittsburgh with my husband and two girls, Angel and Mikayla.
