After becoming a caregiver for a sick relative, Jennifer Kalenkoski, RN, realized that being a nurse was her calling. Since that realization, Jennifer has been elected as 2017-2018 president of the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA), received an associate’s degree, and moved to Rochester, Minn., to begin her career in the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at the Mayo Clinic as she completes a Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. In this episode of Nursing Notes Live, we discuss Jennifer's passion for nursing and the importance of time management.

2017 has been quite the year for Jennifer Kalenkoski, RN, who was recently elected as 2017-2018 president of the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA). After graduating with an associate’s degree in May, Jennifer moved to Rochester, Minn., to begin her career in the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at the Mayo Clinic this fall as she completes a Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. We recently spoke to Jennifer about her nursing journey and how she manages her busy schedule, as well as NSNA’s plans for the upcoming academic year.

We recently spoke with Michele Morin, RN, MSN, about her experiences traveling to Rwanda and Ghana to assist and train local healthcare providers, and the differences between pediatric nursing domestically and abroad.
